Edmund Hartzell studied at the Royal College of Music as well as Baylor University in Texas.
"Music is something that is special in the same way that people are special. You have to take the care over every note in the same way that every person has hopes and dreams and you wouldn't want to disappoint the hopes and dreams of a note or friend"
Edmund has had pieces performed in the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, V&A Museum and at Baylor University Texas and the New Port Music Society and Rosagilwen Mansion in West Wales.
In 2023 and 2024 he had four books of compositions published with Moonhouse Music and two pieces published with Klarthe publications in France.
In 2025 and 2026 he will be launching the Hartzell House Piano Competition.
Essie's Gigue dedicated to Yuki Ito has been played at Pushkin House in London, La Mortella Ischia in Italy, Merkin Concert Hall in the States and the Victoria & Albert Museum and Royal Festival Hall in London. In November 2014 the piece was played at the CHANEL Nexus Hall in Tokyo and on the 16th of January 2015 was played at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.
On January 30th 2015 Edmund's Fantasy for Two Violins and Orchestra was premiered at St James's Picadilly and on the 10th of April his 1st Symphony was premiered at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London both concerts with the In Tune Orchestra. On June 6th 2015 Edmund's Siciliana was played at St James's Picadilly as part of a concert dedicated to the composer Jolly Braga Santos.
